Meet the All-New Nissan Pixo: A Small Electric City Car With Big Ideas

Nissan has revealed the all-new Pixo, a compact electric city car designed for everyday life in towns and cities. It joins the new Nissan LEAF and Micra in the electric range, and it’s aimed at drivers who want a simple, affordable way into electric motoring. Here’s what we know so far, and how to be among the first to hear more at Barton Townley.

How far will the Pixo go?

The Pixo has a 27.5kWh battery and a range of up to 161 miles (WLTP). That comfortably covers the school run, the weekly shop, trips to work and weekend outings, which is what most small-car drivers do day to day.

It’s also the first Nissan in Europe to use a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery. Nissan says this helps keep electric driving accessible, particularly for people buying their first EV.

Charging

Every Nissan Pixo comes with 50kW DC rapid charging as standard, whichever trim you choose. At a compatible rapid charger, the battery goes from 15% to 80% in around 28 minutes. For home or workplace charging, it supports 11kW AC charging.

Compact outside, roomy inside

The Pixo is 3,796mm long and 1,790mm wide, so narrow streets, busy town centres and tight parking spaces shouldn’t be a problem. The turning circle is just 9.9 metres. Inside, there’s room for up to four adults. The rear seats slide independently, so you can trade passenger legroom for luggage space when you need it.

  Nissan Pixo
Boot (rear seats up) 356 litres, including 50 litres of cable storage
Boot (rear seats folded) 1,221 litres
In-cabin storage 18 litres

Nissan describes the 356-litre boot as best in class, which is a big claim for a car this size.

Technology that makes life easier

  • Google built-in: navigation and real-time route planning.
  • Gemini voice assistant: hands-free help with navigation, music and calls, available in 16 languages and dialects at launch. It can learn your preferences over time.
  • Face ID: recognises the driver and loads their personal settings automatically.
  • MyNissan app: manage charging and vehicle functions from your phone.
  • Screens: a 7-inch driver display and a 10-inch touchscreen.

Driver assistance is included as standard, with adaptive cruise control that can stop and go in traffic, Lane Departure Warning and Hands-Free Parking. One Pedal driving lets you accelerate, slow down and stop using just the accelerator, which makes stop-start traffic less tiring.

A design with personality

The Pixo has cube-inspired proportions, pixel-style lighting and a playful “robot face” front end. There are even hidden “23” details in the design, a nod to “Ni-San” in Japanese, where 2 and 3 are “ni” and “san”. Colours include Wonder Purple and Gear Blue. The car was designed at Nissan Design Europe in London and will be built by Nissan’s partner Renault in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

When can you get one?

Nissan says deliveries will start in early 2027. UK pricing, specifications and pre-order details will be announced from December onwards, so we can’t quote prices yet.

If the Pixo sounds right for you, get in touch and we’ll let you know as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, you can see the Nissan electric models we already have at Barton Townley.
